About Kidfriendly
Kidfriendly is an adaptive learning platform for children aged five to twelve. It is currently focused on Key Stage 2 spelling, punctuation and grammar, aligned to the UK National Curriculum and SATs framework. Practice is delivered in short, game-like sessions designed to adjust difficulty to each child's current level.
What a session looks like
A typical session lasts around five minutes. Children work through a sequence of puzzles. As they answer, the difficulty is designed to adjust: when answers come easily, challenge increases; when a child is struggling, the next questions aim to ease back and rebuild momentum.
Feedback is immediate and specific. Children see what they got right and what to try differently, without waiting for an adult to mark their work. During practice, curriculum-grounded explanations are available for each puzzle, designed to help children understand the underlying concept rather than just whether the answer was correct.
Sessions are short by design. Brief, focused practice supports retention better than longer stretches, and it fits more easily into family routines.
For more on how sessions are structured and the research behind the approach, see The Kidfriendly Method.
What parents see
Kidfriendly aims to give parents a clear view of their child's progress: what's secure, what needs more work, and what to practise next. The goal is practical information you can act on, not walls of data.
This means you can support your child's learning without needing to set the curriculum, mark answers, or decide what to work on each evening.
For practical guidance on supporting learning at home, see the Parent's Guide. If your child is preparing for KS2 SATs, the SATs Hub covers each topic area.
Who we are
Kidfriendly is built by Make Work Ltd, a London-based team of parents and technologists looking for a better way to support children's learning.
We started Kidfriendly because we believe strong academic outcomes, genuine enjoyment, and long-term wellbeing belong together. The platform is currently in pre-launch as we test with families.
Our commitments on learning approach, safety, and data are set out in the Kidfriendly Charter.
